“What we think, is what we say. What we say is what we do. What we do becomes a habit. Our habits form our character and our character becomes our destiny.”

– Lao Tzu

Most of us have contemplated the idea of where our thoughts truly come from. Does love really live in the heart? Or is it all around us? The stuff that makes us us, but doesn’t have a location, such as our intellect, our emotions, our thoughts is what makes up our energetic body. These are then integrated to the physical body through the Chakras, or energetic wheels. And with all of our systems, our energetic body can impact our physical body. Our physical body can impact our energetic body. A simple review of how you experience life after a period of sleep deprivation will show you just how these 2 aspects of our self-impact one another. Do you not feel cranky when your body is undercharged? Or have your thoughts ever prevented you from getting to sleep? Ever worry yourself into constipation or diarrhea?

Going a step further; both our physical body and our energetic body can impact our relationship with our Higher Self.

When we experience low/negative emotions, such as anger, depression, anxiety and such we tend to feel further from our Higher Self. This can often result in the feeling of being unfulfilled. This can lead to a constant attempt to try and fill that void with the next new thing; new home, new job, new things, new relationships and so on. Or, from a slightly different angle, when we feel unfulfilled, we often blame the home, job, things, relationships and so on.

This process can have an adverse effect of our seeking new things that are not best serving our Higher Self or nurturing the gifts we were born with to bring into this world. The path of feeling fulfilled has always been within us all along.

Try this brief contemplation: Try and remember – really feel like you were 5 again and your understanding on how to drive a car. Did you understand the car required gas? Or the maintenance of the tires? Of the exhaust system? If you had been asked to drive from New York City to Los Angelas, would you have been able to get there, safely, happily and without harming anyone? Consider this process for when you were 10, 14 and again at 18. What about now? How well do you know how your car works? Every system? How each system interrelates with each other? What happens to the fuel system if the exhaust fails? Anything?

We are each in different stages of understanding how our system works. There are very few people on this planet today, such as our Sages, Gurus, Llamas and such who truly know how it all works together. The rest of us are in various stages of grasping individual systems. Some of us are at 5 years old, barely comprehending the car needs gas and no idea on what a healthy tire looks like. Some of us are closer to 10, where we could likely pump gas in an emergency, but would likely be terrified to do so. Some of us are 18 and have a confidence in driving the car, with a vague idea of how it all works. And some of us are crappy mechanics taking advantage of those who don’t. Then there’s the few, who truly know and want deeply for each of us to also know our system.

Cause it’s on the path of understanding that we begin to feel truly fulfilled.

So what car knowing age are you today?

Imbalances can occur because we brought them into life when we were born. Or possibly this life’s actions created an imprint that took root and stayed. They might express as feeling scattered, frustrated, shy, excessive or avoidance in talking, we might have little drive or Will, or maybe we aren’t even sure what our own desires are. Imbalances can be expressed as alcoholism and other addictive behaviors. Or as physical experiences such as headaches, ulcers, IBS, sore/fatigued throat, kidney issues and so on also arise when we experience energetic imbalances.

When our physical body and energetic body are in balance and harmony, though, we feel fulfilled, unfazed by the whims of searching for the ‘next new thing’ and in sync with our Higher Self. We feel fulfilled and at ease. We feel aligned. What we think, is what we say. What we say is what we do. What we do becomes a habit. Our habits form our character and our character becomes our destiny. (and a special thanks to my friend Tahnia for reminding me of this eloquent quote..)

And the beauty is, we have all we need to bring these two systems into alignment – it just takes an open heart, desire and the Will to do so. The manuals already exist on how to bring ourselves into alignment, it’s simply a matter of choosing to get on the path of knowing.

In completing my advanced teacher training program, it became clear to me that working specifically in aligning our systems through personalized practices is my area of focus. I have reached out to Master Teachers throughout my journey who have either offered personalized instruction, practices, or offered energetic healing which have had a profound impact on the rate in which my practice has progressed. Though I deeply believe general group classes are also essential, it is the compost which feeds the garden; and there is no replacing the Sangha (community – even if virtual) and moving together as one. Pairing your regular group practice with a personalized practice can be a very powerful tool.

So, I’ve broken down the teachings, the philosophy, or manuals, if you will, into a simple way to assess your particular energetic flow and vet out where possible imbalances are happening. With that assessment, we then determine the ideal practice for you.

Rather than looking immediately towards an outside source for healing (though at times, that is absolutely the right course of action!); this practice is offered as a resource to help you take your alignment and ultimately wellness into your own hands.

I am super excited to bring this into the world, and am now booking appointments for this new Energetic Healing session.
