Class Descriptions

YOGA FUNDAMENTALS

This practice is geared toward engaging and awakening the physical and energetic bodies. Class will focus correct alignment of the postures in an effort to generate warmth, flexibility and strength. There will be some linking of poses in short sequences. We will also review different modifications using props, either what you have on hand or any specific yoga props you may have or are curious to buy.

Each class will include mantra (chanting – in which you can participate or simply listen & experience), pranayama (yogic breathing), asana (postures). Postures are cued in English and Sanskrit, and dharma (a little about the philosophy on how & why yoga works). 

INTERMEDIATE VINYASA

Intermediate Vinyasa will focus on the primary vinyasa flow with more advanced postures and sequencing. This class will have a quicker pace than the All Levels Vinyasa, but still maintain a steady flow without being too rapid. We will engage & waken the physical and energetic bodies in an effort to generate warmth, flexibility and strength. Postures will also be cued in Sanskrit and English. My aim is to help you start your day off feeling aligned, in-focus, awake and engaged and take your practice to the next level. Each class will encourage you to explore your boundaries in a safe and inclusive space.

ALL LEVELS VINYASA

This practice is geared toward engaging and wakening the physical and energetic bodies. Class will focus on a steady vinyasa flow (linking of postures) in an effort to generate warmth, flexibility and strength without being vigorous or advanced in postures. Postures will also be cued for all levels and modifications offered to ensure postures are accessible for all. My aim is to help you start your day off feeling aligned, in-focus, awake and engaged.

Each class will include mantra (chanting – in which you can participate or simply listen & experience), pranayama (yogic breathing), asana (postures), postures cued in English and Sanskrit, and dharma (a little about the philosophy on how & why yoga works). 

NEW MOON INTENTION SETTING & GENTLE FLOW

In this class, there will be a short 20-minute slow & gentle restorative flow followed by yogic breath work, intention setting for the upcoming month & releasing what is no longer serving you. There will also be time to write down your intentions. This class is designed to take advantage of the quieter Earth energy during the time of the New Moon to help us find an inner stillness so that we can better connect to our Highest Self. 

It’s also said that when we come together, our intentions are amplified 11x’s. Let’s join together during this time and help amplify each others intentions.

This class is open to everyone and modifications will be offered when appropriate.

GENTLE FLOW AND RESTORATIVE

A Gentle Flow and Restorative practice will include slow and mindful movement accompanied with deeper stretching and relaxation. We will incorporate yogic breath work and all postures will be available to all; whether recovering from injury, chair-bound as well as for the more experience practitioner looking to dive deeper into the subtle realms of the postures. Each pose will be held for a longer period of time (about 5-10 breaths per pose) and will include time to move between postures and shift props. 

This class will use props. If you have a bolster, woven blankets and blocks, you’ll want to have them handy. If you do not have these props, then grab a firm pillow or 2 a couple of towels and maybe a couple thicker books (like the Harry Potter books).

VIRTUAL CHAIR YOGA

In a virtual chair yoga class you can expect to experience the full yoga practice modified for seated postures. This is an excellent class for those healing from injuries, surgeries or other situations limiting full movement. We will generate warmth, flexibility and strength throughout this class in an effort to help you feel better aligned and in balance.

Each class will include mantra (chanting – in which you can participate or simply listen & experience), pranayama (yogic breathing), asana (seated postures), and dharma (a little about the philosophy on how & why yoga works). This class uses props; chairs, blocks, blankets, pillows, bolsters, towels or yoga straps.

My ultimate goal is to share the yogic teachings so that you can apply them in your life and experience the bliss yoga offers. We start by with becoming aligned physically & energetically.
